THE WAIT TIME ALLIANCE
The Wait Time Alliance (WTA) was formed out of
concern among Canada's doctors over delayed access to care for their patients,
and an interest in working collaboratively with stakeholders to inform, advocate, and provide solutions to achieve timely, appropriate and equitable access to high-quality health care.
The WTA is comprised of 14 national medical organizations whose members are directly involved in providing care to patients.
Among the members in the alliance are the Canadian association of General Surgeons, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Canadian Orthopedic Association, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
All members are directly involved in providing care to patients (Wait Time Alliance, 2008).
